America’s Best Inns & Suites Expands Into Nigeria

TWO PROPERTY OPENINGS IN NIGERIA ANNOUNCED AS AMERICA’S BEST FRANCHISING, INC. LAUNCHES MEETING OF OWNERS & GENERAL MANAGERS

“Turning Opportunities Into Results” is the Conference theme as America’s Best Franchising, Inc. kicks off a three-day meeting today in Atlanta of more than 200 Owners and General Managers from around the world – and to underscore its message of solid growth, the Company announced the opening of two new hotels in Nigeria.

Both Nigerian properties will operate under the “America’s Best Inns & Suites” brand and are being developed by MIDC, Ltd. Opening today is a unique 23-room boutique penthouse hotel that includes 19 standard guest rooms, four suites, a 78-seat restaurant, and a meeting room that seats 16 people.

Known as “The Penthouse by America’s Best Inns & Suites,” the hotel sits atop a leading office building in the business district of Lagos that houses the local corporate headquarters of such companies as Microsoft, Samsung, General Electric, and Google. Guests will have access to the Ikoyi Club, which is immediately adjacent and is home to one of Nigeria’s most elite private golf courses.

The second hotel – scheduled for opening in July – is the re-branding of a 220-room hotel and 3,000 square-foot conference center located near a wildlife refuge.

“There is a high demand in my native Nigeria by both business and leisure travelers for hotel rooms that are dependable in quality and affordable in cost,” explains Emmanuel Obire, a construction engineer who serves as CEO of MIDC and who is attending the America’s Best Franchising, Inc. Owners & General Managers Conference, being held at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Atlanta through June 3.

“American products have a solid reputation for value and quality, so the America’s Best brand offers us a unique way to bring something special to the marketplace and to build our identity in the African hospitality industry,” adds Obire.

According to Doug Collins, Chairman and CEO of America’s Best Franchising, Inc., “These new properties in Nigeria symbolize the powerful opportunities for our brands both domestically and internationally – and our Conference will focus on translating these opportunities into profitability for our franchise partners.”

Attendees at the America’s Best Franchising, Inc. Conference will hear numerous industry speakers including Joe McInerney, President of the American Hotel & Lodging Association; Fred Schwartz, President of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association; Greg Plank, President of Worldwide Travel Marketing and Don Snyder, social media expert.

There will also be a variety of panel discussions and educational breakout sessions.

Atlanta-based America’s Best Franchising, Inc. operates almost 300 properties in the United States, Canada, China, India and Argentina, plus the soon-to-open properties in Nigeria, under its upscale 3 Palms brand and its four upper economy brands – America’s Best Inns & Suites, Budgetel Inns & Suites, Country Hearth Inns & Suites, and Vagabond Inns & Suites.
